Whether it’s because of lockdown, boredom or pure love for animals, at some point you thought of getting a pet and what’s more exciting is owning an exotic pet. It’s no easy feat though. It doesn’t stop with just providing them with food. You must get them the proper enclosure as well with the most suitable environment so they can grow healthy and happy
Let’s say you just bought a Leopard Gecko legally, hopefully. A large enclosure must be prepared as leopard gecko can grow around 15-25 centimeters and live 10-20 years in captivity. You need a tank at least 60cm long, 40cm high and 30cm deep for an adult gecko.
The key to keeping it healthy and happy is to mimic their natural habitat as much as possible.
Leopard gecko regulates their body temperature using the environment so thermogradient must be provided. Their vivarium should have two different temperatures, the hot end and the cool end. You can put up a heat lamp on one side but it doesn’t end there. You must be able to identify what are the appropriate temperature and humidity ranges for a gecko.
By using AirComfort, you can set the right temperature and humidity ranges for a gecko on Exotic Pet App. The basking area set between 28-30°C during the day and cool end 24-26°C. At night, you can set temperature not dipping below 18°C with humidity between 30-40% only.
You can see on the graph and numerical value if you're not on the proper range anymore then, you can do something about it. That way, your gecko is happy and you are too, for sure. Get your own AirComfort here.
