Climate control is the top priority in poultry production. If the climate is not up to standard, it’s easy to spot some respiratory, digestive, and behavioural disorders in your birds. You’ll know you’re providing the proper climate if there’s lower mortality meaning they have adequate immunity and therefore they are healthier. With a desirable and stress-free environment for your poultry, you’ll have high quality meat and eggs.
To get your climate right, ideal temperature and humidity must be tracked inside your poultry houses. Let’s take for example, layers have an average body temperature between 41°C and 42.2°C and they can regulate and keep it constant through a part of their brain called hypophyse. Newborns though need some time to regulate this mechanism therefore they need higher ambient temperature.
Generally, temperature inside should be 32°C especially the floor temperature in the brooding area before you place the chicks and in terms of relative humidity it must be within 65% to 70%. After the brooding period, the optimum relativity is between 50 and 70%.
Recommended temperatures for layers are within 20 – 24°C.
Recommended temperatures for broilers:
With AirComfort, you can set the min and max value of both humidity and temperature and on the App, you can see if the values are below or beyond the proper range for your poultry houses. On the temperature recommendation above for layers and broilers you can see that they differ so it’s best to use several AirComfort App to keep track of the environment that is ideal depending on the kind of poultry you are raising. Good thing you can sync as many AirComfort devices as you want and track them on one App.
